I am trying to run an avi file in virtual dub to check for bad frames...but I get the following error.
Couldnt locate decompressor for format DIV3 (microsoft-high-speed MPED-4-V3
{Hackivx low-motion}
Virtual Dub requires a video for windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. Direct show codecs such as those used by windows media player are not suitable.
I am also using AVI2SVCD to convert the AVi to MPEG , but when I try to convert I get cannot find scenarist file...says it does not exist.
any help would be appreciated

Alternate Solution:
MPEG4 is MPEG4 (DivX/XviD). Use the 4cc Changer and change the header to read divx/divx . VDUB should now be able to load the file (assuming you have an MPEG4 codec installed in the first place? such as DivX 5.x)To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan -
So if he does use your solution, will he have to do this for every DivX 3 file he comes across?
