I have a problem with Instant Copy to author my dvds.

I have a 7.45gb dvd ripped to my hard drive, when I use the normal procedure to encode it using Instant copy it says 4.50gb is too large to fit on a writeable media (customise disc) and it doesn't allow me to decrease the movie using the timeline.

Here is a screenshot if you don't know what I mean: http://www.geocities.com/nrishiraj/instant_copy_screenshot.jpg

    Thanks

    Sorry for the cross post.

Hi! thanks for the quick reply.

There is only 1 audio stream english.

Yes, I can change the time line of other movies I have done.

This isn't a film but a documentary dvd.

  3. May be you should see if DVD shrink can shrink it for you. Its free & really good. You can get it from the Tools section

  4. If Dvd shrink does not work or if you do not want to use it, then may be you should think about splitting the disc over 2 dvd's

    Thanks.

I'll give dvd shrink a try.

One thing I've noticed is that when I ripped the dvd to my hard drive and play it in powerdvd it is full screen and when I have burn't it to dvd-r it goes back to the original wide sreen.

    Why is that?

  6. Hi,

What you could also do is remove certain titles (Disable them) if possible. Else just hit the F5 key on the screen you posted the screenshot of and you can click the 'OK' button. Most of the time IC ends up with files smaller than 4,37GB anyway.

InstantCopy 8 seems to have resolved a host of small problems, but occaisionally things like this will pop up. You could try the program InstantCopy Hidden Settings and reduce the destination sizes to 4400 (or a smaller value) instead of the default 4424. You can then use it to restore back to the defaut. I keep mine there as most burn/read errors tend to occur at the end of the disc.

For squeezing video, IC 8 provides the best video quality, it is the best choice for squeezing video to one disc.
