This program came with my Sony DRU-500a. The DVDs that I used this program to author played fine and the quality was fine. HOWEVER, Sonic MyDVD always insists on reconding all audio back to PCM, which greatly reduces the length of the movie you can get on a DVD. Also, it takes (depending on the speed of you computer) up to an hour to reencode the audio. While the final result is acceptable, Sonic MyDVD (in my opinion) unnecessarly wastes space and time by reencoding the audio to PCM.

  3. I agree with rkr1958. You sacrifice video quality for audio file size by using Mydvd. If your encoded mpg file size is too big, it won't even let you author it.

I use Ulead DVD Movie Factory to author and burn directly to disc, fast and generous file size. If the file is too big to fit on a disc then I author it to a VIDEO_TS folder, then use DVD2ONE or DVD95COPY to shrink it down to fit on a disc then burn.
