  1. can anyone help with me as regards as to how I can get back my lost ifo`s, silly me used an identicle file checker, which consequently knocked out ifo1 etc on all the files that I had on my hard drive, otherwise leaving in tact everything else, regards nipperlocko.

That software should either have some sort of recovery utility, or a backup image of the files it deleted. If it doesn't....then shame on u for using an inferior product =)

If u use Norton, look in the protected files in the recycle bin to see if they are there. Lastly....try going to download.com to see if u can download some shareware that'll recover deleted files.

  3. Thanks for the reply, but I`ve since formatted and washed my computer, still keeping the remaining files just in case, so other than that I guess there is no hope, thanks anyway, nipperlocko.

  4. You can use IFOEdit to rebuild IFO's from the vobs.

I don't know that the result is perfect, but it's worked for me in the past (just trying to get the vob's into DVD2SVCD).

    cheers,
    mcdruid.

IfoEdit will rebuild the ifo's, but i think you will need another program to rebuild your menus and chapters. i think you lose them when rebuilding ifo's. good luck.

No one doing serious video work runs Norton System works. The protected file system means an instant fragmented drive. There are also known issues deleting files greater than 4 GB( they periodically delete but you don't get the space back without doing things beyond the average user).

IFO Edit will rebuild your basic files from VOBS.

Every IFO has a backup file (BUP).
Copy the BUP, change the extension.

Or use DVD Fab to create or correct the navigation files.
It takes a second and really easy to use...
