  1. These two softwares are in options in DVD2SVCD. Cinema craft leaves a blue stripe (like an ad) on the SVCD file...Does TMPGEnc do the same ??

I chose TMPGEnc once instead of CCE and it failed right at the beginning of the encoding...don't know why, so I went back to CCE.

    Advice please...Thanks

  2. Do you have the registered version of CCE?
I've not used it but I believe the free version of CCE adds a banner to the encoded video, you probably need to get the full version to get rid of this.
TMPGEnc Plus has a free trial period (30 days I think), It won't add any banners to your video.

What were the errors you got with TMPGEnc?
I use this with DVD2SVCD and have done for about a year now.
It works fine for me, although it is a little slow, but I don't mind that as I nomally start it all off before I go to bed or go to work.

I've used both with DVD2SVCD and CCE has a little better quality and is faster, but TMPGEnc does just fine. No problems with either, but occasionally CCE chokes with certain videos, then I use TMPGEnc.

ok...I used TMPGEnc along with DVD2SVCD and it says at the beginning that the AVS files are not supported. I'm decoding a plain AVI file. Why does TMPGEnc say that ?? And does it usually do a couple (about 12 I think) of AVS tests before starting encoding ?? or is it part of the encoding ?? I may sound silly but, I just started doing this stuff days ago.

    Thank you for helping !!

p.s. I do read the guides here.

Then check your codecs, or install some (like K-Lite pack). Most likely it's a codec issue (if we assume thet the file is OK). I presume that we are talking DivX or Xvid Avi. Normal MS Avi's are a non issue with Tmpeg ( 0 problems!). Use Gspot to find out about your file codecs.
