Can a normal DVD player be chipped or modified to play VCD and SVCD. If so where can I get it done.

Even if you could why would you want to? The average price of a dvd player that can play vcd and svcd is around 40 bucks.

There are a few players that can be firmware upgraded to accept SVCD but not many. Look up your player in the DVD Hacks section, over there <-<-<-.

The only reason is because I won a really good Panosonic DVD player
but it doesn't play (S)VCDs.
I thought I could get it chipped instead of trying to sell it.
