    I've got a Panasonic XV10 which I've not used yet.
    Can it be chipped to play SVCD and VCDs ?

    I looked on the dvd players list for your model and it says that it can play SVCD's by using the header trick. It also said that it can play VCD's. Please do a forum search for "header trick" and one of the many posts will show you how to do this.
