Hi, Guys!
I have a problem when I'm trying to convert from .VRO (Panasonic DVD-RAM file) to .MPG files. Suddenly, the video is divided by a vertical line. Then I have a left and a right part and they are diferents. The worst thing is the file plays fine on DVD player and in WinDVD. The problem only ocours when I use DVD2AVI, VirtualDub MPG2 and MediaPlayer. Does anybody know why it's happening? I've recorded again and the problem persisted.
Thanks in advance.

Just a guess, but i think the problem could be that you've recorded the program in FR mode, and the stream is switching between Full D1 and half D1....
Just a guess though!!

you need MPEG2VCR to DEMULTIPLEXER the file and put it back together. This will fix the problem.

Well, I chose 2hr mode to record. I don't know if recorder switch between Half and Full D1. When I open in MPEG2VCR the problem also ocours, but I haven't tested using it to de(re)multiplex.
Thanks. If I discover the problem, I'll post its solution. -
If "Hybrid VBR" is turned on in setup it can switch between half and full D1 as it sees fit, and you won't know it by just viewing it on a player. This res switching usually causes fits with editing apps. But if you're in 2-hour mode it's not likely the problem.Originally Posted by AngusMacGyver

I'm still having the same problem. I've noticed the problem ocours only when I record from edited VHS (Weddings, trips from video cammeras...) and ocours always at the same point. When I capture in 2hr mode it switchs between 704x480 and 352x480 and when I capture in 4hr mode, it switchs between 352x480 and 352x240. I've changed the VCR already and the problem persists. If I capture from TV or Directv, everything is fine.
It's strange!!!!!
PS: I tried to de/remux using MPEG2-VCR and the problem persists. -
As Capmaster pointed out earlier, did you change the Hybrid VBR Resolution option from the default setting "Automatic" to "Fixed" (on page 46 of the owner's manual)? Apparently your recordings contain two different resolutions and could be causing the problem.Originally Posted by AngusMacGyver

Well, I've just changed it before reading your posts and it worked like a charm. My mistake was to think that that setting only applied to vbr mode (FR rec mode). Now it works perfectly. Thanks a lot.
