  1. Nero 6.0.0.15 is the version I am using, and by the many posts here this problem seems to be far reaching through the many versions and drives and computer setups.

I am using a plextor PX-708A on winxp pro.

Even searching on google or yahoo brings up pages in all languages from all different setups on this problem.

But yet after all the searching and reading it seems to still be a mystery. Why is there that lead out problem with Nero?

If anyone has found a solution, a work around, or a tested replacement to Nero, please let all of us know that are getting this problem, because I am sure others, as I am, are getting tired of burning coasters.....

IMHO Nero never was any good for DVD. Nero is a beta product at best sold to people who pay their hard earned $$$$ to do beta testing for Ahead Software Corp. Not a bad plan if you can get enough guppies to play along??

This is sad to hear, as Nero was the cats ass of CDR burning software. It seems that for DVDRs, its another story.

I just spent 80 bucks for RecordNow Max (as it was highly rated here in these pages) only to find it does not support many of the newer drives including mine.

Ok, so now what should I try? Is there anything that is surefire? Before I blow another hundred?

I've never had any real trouble with Nero, and I've used it for DVD-Video since 2001.

Nero has always worked well for me --- I always chalked up my screw-ups to "operator error". 8)

The latest 6.0.0.23 version seems especially nice.

Thanks guys, I needed to hear this good Nero news. As I am very comfortable with the 5.5 version of Nero for CDR and VCDs, I would like to buy the retail box of 6. whatever.

Guess it is just certain people and their drives.

  10. Yes and no. Nero has never created any coasters for me. The discs were always readable in my DVD-ROM. But depending on the version of NERO my DVD player Daewoo 5700 didn't want to load it, loaded it only after a few tries open -close or didn't load them at all. See the change-log for 6.0.0.23. They say they fixed the order how video files are sorted. They had it fixed before and AFAIK 5.5.10.20 and some higher versions of 5.5. worked. Since then I burn with ImgTools and DVDDecrypter and since recently with CopyToDVD. None of those burns showed similar probs. Please let me know when Nero 6 is safe to switch back. Of course I will be kind of hesitant now. In a nutshell - no coasters but not very compatible burn if your player is picky.

    ver 5.5.9.9

1400+ DVDs and I have had less than 10 coasters, all of which were windows errors, not Nero's.

dad uses the same version (5.5.9.9) and he is at 200+ with zero coasters.

it's all I ever used for DVD Video and data.

What drive are you using? I guess you were just unlucky, I'm using the older 4.5 version with a brand new Pioneer 106D.

Your player will be supported in the next update most likely. Email them!

  13. I am new to DVD burning and at the beginning i was using CopytoDVD.I burned 6 DVD videos and all of them were freezing at the last second of the movie.I had to manually stop the DVD player in order to make it stop. The last 1MB of the disk was always damaged.

So now i use Nero 6.0.0.19 and i dont have this problem anymore. The DVD player stops normaly when the movie ends.I found Nero to be very stable and with no problems.I have burned 3 DVD videos with it until now and all of them have no problems and the quality is the same.In the beginning i was afraid to use Nero after all the negative comments for DVD burning but it seems that for me it works like a dream.

I use a pioneer A06 for burning and i have a pioneer DV525 DVD player for my home cinema.
