    i just bought myself a 4x dvd burner and am thinking of putting it in an external inclosure. my question is will i be able to burn at 4x. the inclosure is usb 2.0.

    if its usb 2.0 it will burn at 4x. i have a usb 2.0 enclosure and have no problems burning at 4x

    Why not. You haven't changed the internal structure of the drive. It will write at 4x with 4x media.
