I'm a linux geek, and if possible, would like to use linux for capturing/encoding/authoring/burning.
I've been doing some reading, and while it appears that the dvd authoring tools are in their infancy, all the other functionality is available now.
One question: how does the quality of the end product compare to using the usual Windows tools (ie. tmpgenc, dvdlab, etc)?
If I'm going to invest the time in learning the unix tools, I don't want to be disappointed with the results.
Thanks!

the results are ok -- encoding is not as good though and the number of tools is GREATLY reduced ...
MainActor 5 for linux can be downloaded from main concept web site -- it will do the editing and encoding and capture portion"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650)
