Why narrow yourself down to one type of OS ? I'm familiar with Windows, Linux, and Apple...it's wise to know each...and each one sucks in their own way!

IMO.....the Linux users are getting just as bad as Mac users (OK....I'll use the word FanBoys) as far as the continuous and relentless attempts to "convert" PC users to Linux....often citing stats pulled out of nowhere. This poll has nothing to do with being familiar with multiple operating systems....it has to do with closed-minded people bent on converting all to their favorite operating system.

    Linux users by far.

Apple bobbleheads just think they're superior.
You're too stupid to convert. So they don't bother asking.

I use all of those OS, plus some. (Everybody can kiss my ass.)

I haven't actually met anyone in real life who tried to convince me to use a different OS.

I think there have been many posts at VideoHelp pointing out that the other two operating systems limit users to fewer software and hardware options in general than Windows provides. ...or that it is difficult for those using Linux or OSX to entirely avoid using Windows or Windows emulation to do some things. I guess that could qualify as trying to convince someone to use a different OS.

  8. All the computers of today are PC's as they use the same family of microprocessor. Macs have been PC's since they abandoned the PowerPC cpu.

As far as OS's I think todays Mac OS users are not very informed, and Linux users are more PC smart, as you have to be, to use Linux. I would say Mac OS users have the edge in being worse. In past times, nothing compared to Mac OS in the computer world, but now there are more choices for stable GUI operating systems.

    long time Linux user here...

Can't recall the last time I suggested someone switch to Linux. When people complain about viruses slowing down their computer, malware, etc I've thought about saying it many times, but I've never said it.

I usually have a Linux upgrade/configuration 'ordeal' fresh in my mind that kills off any sense of smugness. Most recent is trying to get an external USB HDD to appear at a sane location on my system when plugged in. Not:
    /media/e1efef80-c482-1423-8845-c23b5b... and so on.
    Still not there yet...

Linux users are worse, IMO - often 'helpful', polite, reasonably knowledgeable but a bit pushy. A minority of Mac users just seem smug.

    True.

Mac users don't actually want you to convert. They just want to let you know how special they are.

Besides, converting you would diminish their exclusivity.
