  1. I use Memorex +R for backing up my dvds. Burned at 2.4X using CloneDVD after ripping with DVD Decrypter and converting it with DVD2One on my Pioneer 106d. After burning my dvds, test read them for errors using dvdinfopro and was happy everything were error free but the next day, tried to test read them again, and I got errors on the same dvds. What's happening. Could it be my media?

Can someone please tell me what's wrong? Only one remained error free.

    Thanks.

  2. This is why I have dumped all the error reading programs for simply ripping my backups. NERO CD SPEED/DVD SPEED, KPROBE..all of them can give faulty results in MANY cases. There could be numerous reasons for this..but I too have commented on disks which have had very few errors listed by one of those utilties..and then a week later...the disk is filled with errors. I've only noticed this on crappy media..which I only used for test purposes anyway..but the point is....

rip your disks with a ripper. Since I have done that..i've been smooth sailing. I would just completely stop using those error checking proggy's..and simply just rip your backups. Every backup i've ever ripped has ripped every time I've tested it. I usually take random disks every month..maybe 20 or so...just to make sure they ALL rip smoothly.

  3. Turned out to be my rom drive. My burner didn't report any disc errors, played back on my dvd player without problems.
