All,
I have terrible problems with my LiteOn LVD-2001. No matter what media, whether it be a store-bought DVD or something I've burned myself, I'll get occasional flashes of blue screen that take over the entire screen. They can last as little as a few seconds, or even several seconds; regardless, it's quite annoying. I sent an e-mail to LiteOn and got this response:
DIY test: playback it and the power-cycle your player at least twice, with 30 minutes break between.
I read the manual, and I don't understand what they're talking about. If anyone's had this same problem, or can help with how to power cycle, I'd be most appreciative.
Thanks/hawkeyeJP

Did you do a firmware upgrade? If so, did you have the same problem with the first firmware?

Had this problem from the get-go. Upgraded to 0227 upon arrival, had blue screen problems and wrote Lite-On about them. They wrote back and said to upgrade to firmware version 0229 which was coincidentally released, so I did. Same blue screen problems as before, although not for certain I'd say I have more problems with store-bought DVDs.
Thanks for catching me, I should have posted my firmware history.

You wrote;
occasional flashes of blue screen
And can you reproduce the error, does it occur on the same spot of the movie.
Last question, how did you connect the LteOn to your TV? -
