  1. Is there a way to distribute the encoding of an MPEG across multiple PCs using either frameserving or some other method? I want to use TMPGEnc if at all posible. If not I want to use trialware or freeware tools.

I cannot get the gist of your question. Will all the computers share the same file, or will they share the same encoding task. Please clarify.
    Hello.

(correct me if I'm wrong) he's talking about using multiple linked machines as a processor boost, like what 3D apps do in "render farms" - coordinate a network of computers to do the encoding on a single media file.

the problem would be finding a program with support for running across a network or cluster of that nature. I know that Cinelerra will do it under Linux, but I'm not sure if that includes an mpeg-2 encoder.

  4. Housepig is correct, that is what I want.

I only have linux on one computer. The others are reserved (i.e. not mine to install OSes on) so they run Windows. But I have the go ahead to use all the processors for a single encoding task if I want.
