DVR-106 and Nero

I recently bought a Pioneer DVR-106 to use with Winblows XP pro, however whenever I try and burn a DVD using Nero 6 or 5.5.10.42 it always fails (no matter what size files) at the when it trys to perform the end of disc-at-once. I used almost this exact same setup with a friend's DVR-105 and it worked.

I've used differernt brands of media, including Pine, Princo, Ritek, Sony, etc... At this point all I do is simulate the buring and I always get the same result.

I've tried other software too and I also get similar results.

I am having the same exact problem with my DVR-106. Did you solve this problem yet?

I managed toi get the DVR-106 to work with DVD-R media (datawrite red) and nero. It burns successful but never verifies without some kind of error. I have downloaded the 30 day free trial of stomps RecordNow max which has successfully burned to DVD+RW DVD-R and DVD+R.

I have also burned one 1/1 successful DVD with burnatonce. You can download this from the tools section of this site.

Of those "successful" burns, have they been "true" 2x (30 mins) or 4x (15 mins)? I have been using Nero6 with my 106 and CANNOT get "true" 2x and 4x burns. All media I'm trying is 4x certified (verbatim, fuji etc...). Anyone have any suggestions as to where my problem is? My 106 is the original firmware 1.05. Any help would be great!

i read in an earlier post that there is a firmware update for the 106,
apperantly it was having trouble burning to cheap media but you guys say you have been using some good quality discs,
it's only a guess but worth checking out

I also have the same problem. I just posted a question before I found this post.

Basically, I can burn 4.37gb DVDs all day long as long as they are ISOs that I burn with DVD Decrypter.

With Nero 6 (latest updates) I always get the "Could not perform end of Disc-at-once" error. It's quite annoying. I'm using Ritek G04 media which works great for burning ISOs.

I've also tried RecordNow and it fails too...

Does anyone have an ideas?

I have been using Ritek G04 (about $1.25/disc in bulk) and I get true 4x burns.... about 15min for an entire full disc. I am very happy with the speeds after upgrading from my 1x A04.
