  1. Hi All,

I did a backup of a DVD with both wide and full screen views on one DVD. I used SmartRipper to transfer to my HDD and InstantCopy7 for the transcoding. Here's the menu layout and the problem.

--intro ad for movie company (Tristar and the lady holding the tourch)
    ----main menu
    -------play movie
    -------setup
    -------scene selection
    -------extras

from the main menu if I hit "play movie"
    ----main menu
    -------play movie
    ----------wide screen
    ----------full screen
    from the choice wide/full screen
    ----------wide screen
    ----------full screen
    -------------plays disclaimer for Tristar
    -------------plays disclaimer for other company
at this point it gets caught in a continous loop between the 2 disclaimers playing them over and over and over.

Now if I go to the main menu and hit "scene selection"
    ----main menu
    -------scene selection
    ---------pick scene 1
    ------------wide screen or full screen
Now it will play the movie perfectly fine

I notice this exact same problem with another movie that had both wide and full screen versions on the same disk and were a choice to choose from after you hit play movie.

Is this just a problem with InstantCopy7 or is it just a general problem that most people know about? Is there a cure, or do I have to live with playing the movie from the scene selection? I want to keep the whole DVD layout with both versions to the movie and extras.

    Thanks!

  4. In both cases, the original DVD worked fine. If it didn't I would of returned them to the store
