    Hi guys,

I am currently using a Leadtek Winfast 2000xp Deluxe cap card and nothing, I mean nothing, is compatible with it. Vdub won't capture in a decent resolution. iuVCR doesn't work. Virtual VCR doesn't work. I and sick of trying "hacked" drivers and work arounds just to capture a decent avi. (ok sorry, rant over)

I need a tried and true cap card that has a TV in function as well as Vdub compatibility. I looked at the cap card list to the left and saw the Hauppauge WinTV PVR-350 got decent reviews. Does this work with Vdub (full 720x480 resolution captures)? Any others?

Please I need help. I am going to throw this card out the window soon. Sorry for the begging, but I waste hours and hours of my day trying to get something to work with it and it's futile.

    Thanks in advance!

The Leadtek Winfast 2000xp Deluxe should work when running WinXP with iuVCR and VirtualVCR.

If it isn't working then YOU are either doing something wrong OR you have a DEFECTIVE card.

Exactly what codec are you trying to use when capturing with either iuVCR and/or VirtualVCR?

When you say it will not work what exactly doesn't work? Do you get anything at all or only video and no audio or poor video and/or audio or what?

I am using PicVideo MJPEG codec...I tried Huffy too. The problem with iuVCR and Virtual VCR is there is no audio. I get video, just no audio. I know for a fact that the card is setup properly b/c I can capture audio in the PVR program and I can capture MPEGs with it just fine.

I read the FAQ for iuVCR and it said that no audio is common and is probably a conflict with the particular card. (ie. I'm s-o-l)

  6. As much as I love my ATI AIW card, VDub doesn't work worth a damb with it as far as capturing goes. If you really must capture with VDub, then I'd probably consider some other capture card.

I got VirtualVcr to work. I plugged the audio directly into the soundcard, bypassing the capcard. Thanks for the help.

VFW is old and being left to rot. WDM is the newest method.
ATI does not use VFW. It has WDM. That's why.
