  1. hi all

i just got a dvd burner (pioneer 106)
but i haven't got any software yet
other than nero express which i didn't like

but is burning to dvd's the same as burning to cd's?

do you burn discrete files to the dvd
or does it only burn an image to the dvd
    what about multiple sessions?
and how do i get the files from the image that was burnt?
if i want to use them on a different machine?

can someone help me today, cos i'll probably
be downloading some freeware to work with tonight
i'll be using this for data backup at first
but i may make some videos later on

    thanks
    dtra

  2. depends on what are you gonna "try"
    to accomplish??

    capture home videos maybe?
    nah, not you...you probably bought
that burner so you could make copies
of dvds you already own, right?

look at tools and guides to left....
    dvdshrink3b5 is good for beginner
very easy to learn, but watch out
for quality issues, if you aim for less
than 80% video quality, youre gonna
be asking for trouble, try to learn how
    to strip audio languages out...

Another thing, is to learn how to use
Ifoedit, another great and also is the
    ULTIMATE freeware tool...guides are there...
