Hi I have a file that won't play so I used gspot221 and it says this:

This is an invalid AVI file due to corruption of the data in the header. This is a serious problem, and this file is not likely to playable

Details: While processing chunk /RIFF:AVI , found bad length value 96781092 at file offset 0x00002804

I tried redownloading the file but I get the same message is there anything I can do?

What was the source of the file? If from a reputable place, email the author and ask them to recreate the file. Also, if you used a download manager, I've had them corrupt video files when the segments were combined; try downloading directly without a manager. Also, if the file came from Kazaa or other p2p, it maybe an intentionally corrupt file put out there by the MPAA or other do-gooder ( :P ).
