Hi, I'm trying to make a back up copy of a double sided DVD. The first half of the film is on side B and the second half is on the other side. Is it possible to join them together and burn them onto one DVD?

    thanks

It's trivial if you don't want a menu.
    DVDShrink

Rip both sides separately with DVD Decryptor
Then add the main movie from each to a new DVD with Shrink.

Thanks for the answers, but I can't work out how to do it. I have DVD2one and DVD shrink. Could you give me a little step by step guide?

    thanks again.

Have you looked in the HowTo section ?
    I think not.

I've had a look in the how to section for dvd shrink, and followed the instructions but it doesn't work. When I open the second lot of files to re-author, the first lot disappears.
And dvd2one just doesn't seem to have many options at all.

    Please help.

Opend DVD Shrink, open side 1. Open a second copy of Shrink, open side 2. Hit a re-author button in any window, drag in main side 1. Change to second window and drag in side 2. Select Audio/subs as needed. I strongly encourage you to use the same tracks in both.

I do this all the time to make a DVD of just 'extras'. Most extras are under 1 GB, so I save them until I got a full DVDR.

Ok I've got it. Many thanks for the help.

Gazorgan, that's a great idea to save up the extras, and then put them all on one disk. Is it possible to store just the extras on your hard drive and not the film too, to save space? If so, how do you do it?

    cheers....x

Of course, it's wastefull to save the whole DVD. I mean I can always re-rip them, but you get the idea.

Just make a 'DVD' of the extras only. Save the files. Later you can do 'open files' when you get a DVD's worth.
