  1. Hi,

    When a dvd player has NTSC/PAL , on the box, does this mean it is completly region free and needs nothing done to it,
    if not what does it mean

  2. no, that just means it can play ntsc & pal dvd's. Not dvd's from other regions, besides its default (unless you mod it)

  3. Jeex is correct. just because you have a PAL disc, doesn't nessesarily mean that it's region coded. All DVDs and DVD players sold LEGALLY in the US (with the possible exception of Porn) are coded region 1 (default) due to petty squabbling between countries. "here in the US, we don't want people buying your british DVDs, cause we're babies."

  4. I should add that Canada and Mexico are region 1 also.
