  1. I'm sorry if this seems very basic but I know next to nothing about DVD's or burning them. However a colleague of my wife has given her a DVD-R with an MPEG file of a school show burned on it. I think he used a Mac, and we only have a PC, which is presumably why I can't access the file. Are there any programmes that will let me read the file and load it into a PC or is it an impossible situation.

    Thanks.

  3. All I'm afraid I know is it was an MPEG file which was burned on to a DVD-R disc, so I suspect it's just data rather than a genuine video file.

    Thanks

  4. Copy the file to your hard drive instead of leaving it on the CD. Then try using different programs to View it and make sure you have all the latest codecs and update your video players

If it is in a true DVD file format, it may be that you just need PowerDVD or WinDVD to play it.

You do not mention if you have ever viewed DVDs on your PC, so I am taking a guess that perhaps you haven't?
    There's no place like 127.0.0.1
