No.
Haha, no, seriously, I'd like to know this as well. I have to record those things manually with a capture card if I want them (and I usually do). Whay is it, that they encode these movies so they can be ripped, but the extras are hard as heck to get off the disc. I wish someone could explain this.

I use FlaskMPEG to look through the .vob files. I find the ones that have the special features (Some patience is required
). Usually they tend to use 1 or 2 vob files for all special features (as DVD can search the file like for chapters). I encode it all the use TMPGenc to cut the files into different segments that I want/need

You don't have to use bbMPEG with FlaskMPEG. You can use the Panasonic MPEG encoder or frameserve to TMPGEnc.
Also, you don't even have to use FlaskMPEG to get the "extras". You can simply use Smartripper to rip the extra titles and load them as you normally would with DVD2AVI.

Well, that's all fine and dandy, Virtualis, but many DVDs I have tried, smartripper won't LET me rip the vobs from the sections that the extras are in. They don't show up as "Titles", but as DVD rom stuff. But, they'll play with the software player, if clicked on from a window.

Thats because you are ripping the dvd in movie mode. Click on files and just rip all the vobs to your hard drive and sort them out later with dvd2avi.

here's my method.
I just play the special feature (the making of, etc..)
in my software player and look at how long it plays.
then i open smartripper and search through all the titles for that time duration and rip that part.
(you'll end up with one or two vob's)
sometimes there are a lot of features with the same time so you'll need to rip more than once,
like hollywood said: "some patience is required"

Here is the way i do it..hope it helps some of you..it is very easy and fast..
First incase some of you have not heard about it there is a AllInOne program out there called DVDX..i downloaded it and tried it and did'nt really like the results..but in the process of testing it out i noticed a very useful thing you can do with it...YOU CAN ACTUALLY PREVIEW THE VOB FILES WITHOUT EVER RIPPING A SINGLE THING!!
So insted of deleting the program off my harddrive i kept it for when i wanted to rip more off a DVD then just the movie.
If you don't already have the program you can download it at this website under Tools or simply go to http://www2.labdv.com/dvdx/
Now all you need to do to PREVIEW the VOB files without Ripping them is ..
1.Open DVDx
2.Select File
3.Select "Open DVD Root"
This will show you all the TITLES on the DVD disc, the length of each TITLE and the name of that TITLE.
So all you do now is highlight one you want o preview and continue to click OK until you get to the PREVIEW window and then simply grab the PROGRESSIVE BAR and advance it so you can see what it is.
So now you know the name(example: vts_07) of the exact TITLE you want..
So i now know vts_07 is the "Making of.." so i then open up SMARTRIPPER,click on FILES,click on NONE,then CHECK OFF all the vts_07 files that have that little T.V. looking icon next to it and then RIP IT!!
That's it..
Hope you find this method just as easy as i did.
