  1. My question is probobly very esy but I am asking it anyway.

If I got a movie (Avi, DivX, Xvid) at 23,?? (NTSC). Which is the FASTEST way to encode (with TMPGEnc). Continue with 23,?? and then not be able to author in TMPGEnc or encode to 25 (PAL). Also which is fastest convert 23,?? to 25 or to 29,??.
It is all a question about time since my DVD player can play both NTSC and PAL.

Btw why cant I use 23,?? and/or another size than 720x480 in TMPGEnc DVD author?

    Thanks for any replies

  2. Many possible answers read the guides on the left of the screen or do a forum search. Your question has been asked many times before.

I am only wondering about what takes longer time converting 23,?? to 25 or to 29,??

  4. It makes little or no difference to encode what the framerate is.

If you have 23.97fps avi and wish to encode to DVD compliant mpeg-2, use 3:2 pulldown.

To do this set 'encode mode' to 3:2 pulldown when playback. and set Frame Rate to 23.976fps (internally 29.97fps)
