  1. Hey,

Okay so i followed lordsmurf's guide on capturing a avi file w/ a ATI card. Ok, so I am using ATI Multimedia Center 7.1, The audio is at 44khz not 48. I dunno if this could be a reason, but when I captured my video in the composite output, the video actually looks pretty damn good for analouge(i havent tested it on a TV yet, I used Power DVD to watch the AVI) but the audio is a bit out of sync when the ppl are talking. I was wondering what could be a quick fix. If i got the audio changed to 48khz would that work. I dunno let me know.

Once that is fixed, Im gonna change it to DVD format and test it out. Make sure everything is up 2 par.

    Thanks Again.

PS: jus to let u know, im running a ATI ALL IN WONDER 8500 128MB

  3. Hey guys (gals?)
Try this. Load your film into virtual dub. Then choose audio>interleaving. A new window will pop up that says audio/video interleave options. At the bottom of this window look for "audio skew correction." There are instructions there on how to use it. Plug in a number (I always start with 500) and then click okay. In V Dub's main screen start to play the video. If it is still not in sync repeat the above by putting in a different number. This will be a trial and error procedure until your audio and video are in sunc. Once you have the audio in sync choose audio>full processing mode, video>direct stream copy, and file>save as avi. Save the file. You will now have an exact copy of your avi but with the a/v in sync.

Try capturing with Virtual VCR, i had sync problems with mostly all other capture software, tried that proggie and no more sync problems.

I cant recommend it highly enough, give it a try, what do you have to lose, its free.
