When I try to burn DVDs with Nero I get "Queuing Failed" errors. Most of the time this happens during the lead in so it does not scrap the disk but if it happens once the track has started to be written the disk is scrap.
This only happens with DVDs and not CDs and also does not happen all of the time.
I have two hard disks on my primary ide channel and my dvd-rw and cd-rw on the second channel. Ive been told that the problem is with communication between the hard disks and the dvd-rw. I have also tried different configurations of master and slave for the drives but the end result is still the same. My DVD-RW is a Sony DRU500AX and I'm running WINXP-PRO.
If this is a comms problem between the hard disks and the dvd-rw does anyone know if fitting an ide raid controller card and fitting my second hard disk on it would help ?
    Any advice would be great!!

well i think that i am going to give that a try ,also maybe could be the media that your using, i am using ridata and this only happens when burning at 4x, also we can look into maybe a firmawre update to fix the prob, well atm i am just throwing things out, so if you get it fixed plzzz leave me a line here ok? i'll do the same cya

You master/slave setup should be OK. Main thing is not to have slower devices such as CD's or DVD's on the same channel as a harddrive. If you haven't done it, I would defrag your harddrives. My other suspicion is that something is running in the background using system memory. It would help if you filled out your computer profile. If you have XP, you can check the Task Manager to see what is running. Also most of the members here don't recommend Nero, though I use it with no problems. Try another burning program and see if that helps. Check the 'Tools' to the left side of this site.

    red^storm,
for some reason I just got your message.
I tried fitting a raid controller card with my storage drive on it and also put my master hard drive on its own ide channel and put my Sony dru500 as a master on the second ide channel. Nothing seemed to make things better.
Bearing in mind that nero says that a queing error is a communication problem between the drives and the Sony I eventually tried burning different disks. The problem mysteriously dissappeared when I stopped using Princo and Discwrite disks. I have been burning Ritek disks for a while now with very little coasters.

    Hope this helps you out.

    Regards

    Ian
