  1. im looking to buy a capture card for recording digital satalite programs to hard drive to transfer to dvd latter could someone recomend suitable cards

  3. now im confused do i need a digital tv card to record sky digital to hard drive or just a tv tuner card with the sat arieal plugged in as i cannot recieve digital tv with a freeview set top box

    Well I live in the USA and here you would normally use the ANALOG VIDEO + AUDIO outputs of your digital cable box and/or digital satelite box to your capture card or capture device.

    That means you will have to use the standard inputs on the capture card/device as opposed to the tuner input so you would use the cable box/satelite box as the tuner.

    Basically it's like this ... if you can plug your cable/satelite into your TV and use the TV tuner then you can use the capture card/device tuner otherwise you can't.

    Of course I live in the USA so you Europeans may be different in this regard.
