How many of you have met people you know from the net in person?
My experience was not that great. I knew this person for about 7 years over the net. Then I decided to take a vaction and I ended up in their hometown.....What a mistakeAbout the stangest people I've ever met. don't want to go into a ton a details, but I will say, I spent the whole time trying to come up with ideas to dump them without hurting their feelings....They never got the hint....and I ended up wasting 2 days of my vacation with wierd people

Me!! Met & married him. :c)
I must stress this was not not not, I'll repeat for clarification: not through a chat room. Through my work I had to contact his work and struck up a friendship. Talked daily for a year. Came to England, met him, went back to US. Moved here and married him. 3+ years ago.

i was going to a concert once a few year ago, but the guy i was going with (my ride to the concert too) crapped out on me, so i sold his ticket on ebau with the condition that the person who bought it had to take me too.. it actually turned out pretty cool. a 2 hour ride in the back of a van with a bunch of stoners.. great concert, great experience..

I cant say that I've met people I've talked to online in person...although if I can squeeze in a few hours in my busy midterm schedule, Sefy will be the first.

I'd be a bit wary about meeting a person you know from the internet because you build up an image and personality of that person then when you meet them its going to be different (in most cases).
My friend actually met up with a guy who he knew through the net and stayed at his place for a week. He said that he spent most of the time trying to stay away from the guy. -
@Devanshu. well, now's your chance, i'm in the US right now, in Michigan, tommorow i'm going to the Comic Convention, and i'm here till the 25th of the month

Never off the "NET", but Iused to have a good friend I met off of a BBS here in the dallas area, haven't talked to him in years tho' he noticed I was the most active user on one of the local boards and was like, "he must be pretty cool"
I also used to be on a chat board here that had get togethers ever week or so, I went to a few of them way back but not many. -
Met a friend online... we hang ouy every few months... the guy is/was a cartoon trader like myself.
Met a REALLY REALLY REALLY hot girl once too... but that didn't last long. It was an accident that we met (long story)... but a memorable accident.I've still got the pictures. :P
Both were through e-mail, not chat or anything.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

I've met plenty people from the Net. Some wierd, some nice, some interesting, some no so interesting...
The only interest girls you can meet in the internet, come from former USSR countries. Ukrain, Russia... Inteligent, with knowledge, good matters. One problem only: They are desperate to leave their country, so except weird and extreme situations with them...
I like sweedish girls also...
About friends from the internet... When internet was new around, I met interest people soon turn friends (and still are). Later, when internet turn mainstream, (after 2000 for my country) I can't say the same. I would say that it is a matter of luck. Some of them turn unexpactable good ones and others vise versa. Overall, the wierdos are more I think.... -

I actually had very good experiences meeting online friends - all were local, and we met at a Online party at a club.
The turnouts were good, so they made it into a once a month thing.
Some people might not have been what I expected at first, but a couple times around 'em, and they really were a lot like they were online.
Anyway, I stayed in touch with many of the people I met and we've became good friends...see a few all the time now.
I also found myself relating more to a few that weren't that chatty online, but in person turned out to be better.
Can't say I ever met anyone for sex, though I've had my share of offers
eeh...I was even stalked way back, but don't need to go there.
Never met anyone from online that wasn't local. -
