I received a note from TMPGEnc that 2 pass only works directly with type II AVI. The problem is that ULead VS 6 would not accept type II files, only type I. I assume it only outputs in type I.
Is there a way to have ULead VS 6 output in type II as I use this for editing?

There are some tools that convert from type 1 to type 2.
like the Canopus DV File Converter. look at the tools section.Just because you aren't paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get you! -
It's been a few years, but if I remember correctly, Ulead Studio 6 only captures in type-1, but can output to type-2. Look in the output settings.
