i like and i use this capture program a lot.
when i make sort time captures which dont exceed 30-40 minutes
the result is fine.
problem is when i record long time events,an hour and more, audio
starts a slight delay compare to the picture.
its only about 10 frames delay per hour so about 20 frames after two hours and so highly noticable.
it seems to happen with all audio settings i had tried, but had no time to try them all.
so does anybody have experienced this problem and find a solution?
if there is one.
the prog version is the latest. 2.6.9.6252

DOH! It looks like my reply was lost....
Ok, short version: you can fix this 99% of the time by using VirtualDub's Video-->Frame Rate (both video and audio in "direct stream copy"). Do this BEFORE any editing. The majority of the time, using the frame rate that VirtualDub suggests (adjust so video and audio durations match) works. Sometimes, however, the number it suggests is far from the norm, so you'll probably want to start with the number that works most often.
See VirtualDub Procedures (http://www.doom9.org/virtualdub_procedures.htm) for a lot more info.
HTH.

DrWafer, you are still around?
If your soundcard is clocked correct in your system, disabling all the audio features gonna help!
Using asus 7700 GeForce and an nforce 2 based motherboard, I 'm able to capture hours using this proggy. Even if I have framedrops (expecially if my source is VHS, you now filmnet movies from the good irdeto days...) the lipsynch is alway perfect. -

My solution is to capture the video in 15-20 minute segments to avoid audio out of sync problem.
Then in Virtualdub i can join back or split the videos however i want. Remember to check both audio and video options to Direct stream copy before splitting or joining (in VDub).
Good luck. -
It heavily depands on your system!
With my new asus motherboard, if I use for capture the bulit in audio codec (AC97), enabling "resample audio dynamically" lead me to lipsych problems! If I disable it, I can capture hours and hours, without issues!
On the same system, if I use a PCI audio card (game furtissimo 2 for example) if I disable this feuture, I can't capture for real nothing!
So, you don't know if you don't test first! -
Also keep in mind that the "resample audio dynamically" function is designed only for certain Windows apps. For example, while editing in VirtualDub, you won't see correct audio sync..... Basically, it works with WMP. If you want audio sync that works while editing/converting in VirtualDub (not sure about TMPGEnc), don't bother using "resample audio dynamically" ... fix after the capture if you need to.
See the VirtualVCR forum for more details---I'd point you to the exact post(s), but I didn't link to it/them. I do remember, though, that it doesn't actually revise the audio stream---just makes notes for later reference in the AVI headers. Something like that, anyways....
