  1. i have wasted a ton of cds trying to get nero to burn my svcds...all atempts have failed.

im trying to create menus for my svcds so i follow the "How to make a SVCD including a menu with Nero 5.5+" guide, but when i go and play it in my apex 600a, i get nothing. even burning a single svcd movie doesnt work. however, everything burns and plays fine if i use vcdimager. problem w/vcdimager is that you cant make menus.

so can someone tell me what im doing wrong? or suggest another method/program i should try.

edit: im using nero version 5.5.0.3...could this be my problem?

I found that the only versions of Nero that worked with menus on most DVD Players were Version 5.5.1.8 (+bugfix) or the complete version 5.5.2.3

As the Nero website only offer ther version 5.5.2.4 to download try this one first. If it still doesn't work email me, and I'll pass on the version 5.5.2.3. (which you can install over 5.5.2.4) to you.

  3. First off, it's insane to waste cd-r's when you can use
    cd-rw's for your testing.

Have you tried playing the finished product in a software dvd player such as power dvd. Maybe it is the apex that has a flaw.

You can get the power dvd demo at their site.

  5. Wait! Let's be fair to the Nero (ahead) people. I've had great success burning both VCDs and SVCDs with Nero, which I LOVE.

  6. First of all check that your player can support VCD menus becuz a lot of them cant.
Second if it can then make sure you have PBC on.
Lastly, check what cd's you are using because i have made plenty of (S)VCDS in nero with only one out of every about 30 screwing up.

I've been able to create VCDs with menu's from Nero 5.5.2.4 with no problems. My Sony DVP-S360 doesn't support SVCD so I can't test that.

All I can say is, DON'T use version 5.5.0.3
It's only good for producing coasters.
    Try 5.5.2.4 for good results.

  10. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH NEROS LATEST VERSION UNTIL I FOUND OUT THE IT WAS THE CD'S THAT WERE CAUSING THE PROBLEM.
I CANNOT RECORD A SVCD ON DIGITALMEDIA RW/CD'S BUT IT WORKS GREAT ON IMATION RW/CD'S. I NOW USE IMATION WITH NO PROBLEMS.
