  1. Can someone guide me step by step on how to turn a 7Gb "flipper" into a 4 gig single dvd? I am trying to put goodfellas together onto one dvd. I have tried the tutorials at

    http://ifoedit.wh.fr0zen.com/joinclip.html#joindbl

but I cannot get it to work. I am using dvddecrypter, dvd2one (for shrinking), vobedit and ifoedit and instantcopy. Do you shrink it first or join the vob files first because I am having trouble both ways. Any help much appreciated.

This has been explained many times before. What have you done so far.
Explain step by step and I will say what you have done wrong.

  3. I rip sidea and sideb into their respective folders with dvd decrypter, each part has 4 vob files, so I open the last vob file with vobedit and read the navigation pack id, its 2 so then I open the first vob file of sideb and tell it to join clips and enter the id number as 3. Once I do this it creates the files fine, then I put them all together in one folder and open up dvd2one to shrink them down to fit on one disk, this is where the problem is, dvd2one will not shrink them, it doesnt recognize that it is a movie. I tried shrinking them first and then joining them but that wont work either. Thanks for the help.

You must have missed the part in guide that stated after renaming the edited vobs and putting sideb with side a you have to create a new IFO file using IFOedit. Only after you do this step and Get VTS sectors can you run any transcoding program.

    This should help.

  5. So can I delete the original ifo and bup files? Also I think there are two vob menu files.

  6. If you didn't re-number the 2nd set of .vob files do so accordingly. I also had IFO edit create new .ifos for the .vob files. it helped me retain all the original chapter stops.

Yes in this method you would lose all menus.
