  1. I am trying to resample some MP2 files at 48000 from 44000. The first time I tried this (and my first run of 0.0.9) it worked fine. Every atttempt after that does the exact same thing. I start up ffmpegx and it looks fine, but as soon as I drop the MP2 file on the icon or use OPEN and select the file (whether or not I have preset all the options I want), 2 things happen:

    - first the Save As file is filled in as <path>/movie, whereas the original file is something like <path>/mysound.mp2
-second the mplayer application starts up

At this point ffmpegx appeared to freeze (although using Force Quit showed ffmpegx in black not red) - I didn't try using top to check activity.
After some fooling around, I found that if I force quit mplayer that ffmpegx "comes back to life".

The next strange thing that happens after I get back control off ffmpegx is that even when I explicitely set the Save As name to something like <path>/mysoundc.mp2, as soon as I click Encode, .avi is appended to the Save As filename. However, the output sure seems to be correct.

    From MpegInfo:
    original file:
    Audio : Mpeg 1 layer 2
    Estimated Duration: 45:33.16s
    224 kbps 44100 Hz
    Frame size: 732 bytes
    Stereo, No emphasis, copy
    converted file:
    Audio : Mpeg 1 layer 2
    Estimated Duration: 45:33.02s
    224 kbps 48000 Hz
    Frame size: 672 bytes
    Stereo, No emphasis, original

As for settings <from default startup state> I set Video Codec to Passthrough (ffmpeg) and disable Encode Video, set Audio Codec to .MP2, change Audio bitrate to 224, and set Invert mapping.

Trying to queue up additional files leads to the same behavior. Any ideas?

  2. Thanks for the report. I'll fix these issues in next version.
