  1. I'm looking to connect my PC to my Hi-fi, i've found some cables, but there all american sites that don't ship to the uk, and i'm sure theres tons of other names for the cable.

I'm looking for a UK stockist

I also found this 1 but i'm not sure if it's the proper 1.

Computer Audio Cables >>>1.2 metre moulded Stereo 3.5 mm Jack - 2 x moulded Phono Plugs

If anyone has any ideas, or could point me in the right direction, it would be great

    looks correct.
1/8" phono from sound card to L/R channel RCA which feed into amp (receiver).
Get the best quality leads you can afford. Cheap ones may induce signal loss and unwanted noise.

No idea where to get them in UK. Electronics hobby store?

Oh man... having to turn restraint up to full here. Did you look anywhere but Google beforehand?

Walk down to local shops (or drive, if you prefer). Go into the first one that looks even vaguely like it has anything to do with electronics. GAME will do, or Argos even... and you're done, if you're just after something that'll pipe reasonable quality audio from your PC to the stereo. Even with crappy £1.50 cables it'll sound miles better than desktop speakers. Don't even need to know the correct names, just look for something which has a headphone plug on one end, and a pair of plugs that look a bit like a TV aerial connector (but with a longer, thicker central pin) on the other. If you want 4.0 or 5.1 sound, you'll need 2 or 3 sets - the second takes surround Left & Right, the third Centre and Bass.

Maplins can do you a wider variety (say you need a cheapo 5m cable and some high quality 10m ones), as can most independent hi-fi stores (never underestimate the value of getting in with your local).. Best to avoid Dixons however, they're mostly overpriced and some don't even fit properly - especially the so-called best quality gold plated ones!
