I am trying to clean up audio that has been distorted. I have a highly compressed divx movie with a high, tinny sound in the background. I was going to use Goldwave and try to remove most of it but was wondering if anyone knew the best combination of filters or of another way to fix the audio. Thanks.

Hi I use gold wave and just select Volume > Maximise
Your problem might be diffrent to everyone elses, cut most of the audio away and save a little wav file, so that you can experement. When you are happy with the results, load the avi back in any use the same filters again.
Noise reduction is always a good filter, but maybe not for your problem....
