  1. Okay, here's the situation. I borrowed my friend's Avermedia AverTV USB to capture some video from a video tape. I've since given it back to him, and formatted my hdd. Now I'm trying to edit the avi's that were created, but can't because AverTV USB apparently uses some non-standard codec (wjpg?) to encode these. So now I'm looking for some way to view these files, or even better, convert them to some standard format. I don't really care what format as long as they become viewable using standard media players, WMP, Quicktime... even Real. I've tried installing the software for the AverTV, in hopes that it would install the codec along with it, but I can only hear the audio. Any suggestions?
