  1. I just burned a copy of the Charlie Brown Halloween DVD to CD-R. I notice that unlike the DVD where you can jump to the next chapter if you want to skip a section, on the VCD its one 25 minute segmnt that has to be fast forwarded to get to a certain scene like a VHS tape. My question is can a VCD support chapters? If so is this done during the ripping process or something that has to be done later.

  2. It can be done, but it's a bitch. You'll spend more time doing that than the DVD rip.
Sometimes the DVD player itself will have an option: 'Goto', then you select the time you want to go to. It's sometimes labled 'scene'.
    Hope that helps.

Its something that has to be done during authoring. vcdimger, video pack 4.0, or I-Author can do it. Its not hard at all to do and it doesnt take very long at all. Using I-author I create chapters including a chapter selection menu in about 1 min.

In the AUTHOR section of this site there are some guides explaining how to implement chapters in your vcds.

  4. DVDx can create several files of certain size each one that you can use as chapters and quick skip. That is the way I use it, when you play it back it is seemless. I burn it using Nero and create the menu so I can jump to a scene as well.

That would be the easiest way I think.
