I have recently captured a couple of DV movies from my Digital 8 camcorder and have noticed that the videos are flickering at the very top. Is this inherent in DV captures, or am I doing something wrong? I have been using DVIO to capture since those are the only captures I can get to open up in Virtualdub. Is there any setting I need to do to stop the flicker?

    Thanks in advance.

Well, I burned the movie to DVD and played it and the flicker doesn't show up on the TV. Just on the PC. Must be the overscan on the TV set. Is this normal?

I can definitely live with that, I just want to know if there is something wrong with the way I am capturing, or with my camcorder.

I have seen this with DV captures from VHS tapes and I've been told it's noise from the video recording head that shows up on the edges of the screen. Doesn't show up on a TV. You can crop it out with TMPGEnc or Virtualdub, but it doesn't seem to be much of a problem.
