    I am using TMPGenc DVD authoring and I have a few high definition AVI rips that I would like to convert to DVD-R. Any suggestions? TMPGenc doesn't seem to want to convert them.

    TMPGEnc DVD Author does not convert your files from avi to mpeg, that is done with TMPGEnc mpeg encoder. I know, the similar names are confusing. Encode to mpeg first, then author and burn. 8)

    Oh I am aware of that. My regular TMPGEnc spits it back out too; that's what is confusing me.

    Oh I am aware of that. My regular TMPGEnc spits it back out too; that's what is confusing me.
    And what error messaage does TmpGenc (encoder not author) give when you try and iput your high definition avi.

    It amy also help us to help you if you open the avi in virtualdub and select file->file information. Then copy that info into your next post.

    Virtualdub says it is an XVID file; my media player plays it fine.

    If you have problem open DV video, DC30+,MJPEG captured video or any AVI VFW
    Then try to change the settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the AVI VFW and increase the priority to 1 and try open the video.
