I wonder if anyone can answer this question? I have recently purchased a Sanyo Xacti HD1000 video camera that records to SD card, The picture quality when played back through the docking station and HDMI Cable is stunning, But! how do i put the same quality video content onto a dvd disc? I have tried just recording on to a dvd recorder and the picture quality is not so good which sort of undermines the point of having a HD Video Camera.
I have also tried to edit some film with Ulead 11plus and it took 6 hours for 20mins of film!

Can anyone help please i just need in simple terms what is the best way to transfer my HD footage to DVD edited or unedited without taking a day to write it.

If you want standard DVD-Video that works on dvd players you can't get any HD quality. But maybe you just want to play the video on computers or HD-DVD, Bluray players? then can you keep it in HD.

    Hi Baldrick
The video's that i have taken in High Definition recorded on SD card, I would like to transfer to DVD in High Definition! Is this possible? Otherwise it the High Definition video camera i have is of no use as a standard video camera that i can transfer film to DVD would have sufficed!

No, DVD Video doesn't support HD so a SD camera would basicly be enough for most home users today. You can store HD video on a DVD but it will ONLY work on computers.

Your computer specs are a little weak to try and edit AVCHD.

Also, have you downloaded the HD Powerpack for VS11+

You can burn HD mpeg-2 onto regular DVD5/9 (I'm not sure about AVCHD), but will need a player that supports "3X DVD" (either set-top or pc software).

    Regards,
    George

SDVD still rules and will for quite sometime. All the tools and hardware, for HDVD, are not available yet, as they are for SDVD. There is no good reason for going to HDVD now, except for those who enjoy pushing the envelope. The average user will be screwed until evolution takes place-but that's a slow process. So, we will continue to hear the cries from the average user for awhile.
