    How do i convert my divx 3.11 apocalypse now movie into a
    Divx 5.1 movie?

    What program will do this and how do i do it?

    I have a ltieon lvd 2001 that can't play the acopalypse now movie
    withs its fast parts or in the first 12 seconds of the movie.

    Have you tried a search right on this site? Box in upper-right corner.

    Try "DIVX3 to DIVX5". Lots of threads to read.

    Make sure you have all the right codecs installed (probably just DivX 3.11 and the latest DivX 5), then use VirtualDub.

    Just open your file, select Video->Full Processing Mode

    ..then Video->Compression, and set up your DivX 5 codec.

    You'll probably need to use a bitrate calculator (several in the tools section) to work out the settings.

    Then File->Save As AVI.

    That should be about it.

    I thought he meant that his player can handle DivX5, but not DivX3.

    BJ_M is right though indofear; quality will be lost with every conversion.

    You can use Dr. DivX, I know it's not "the best" but the quality is good enough for your LiteOn (got one myself) and very easy to use.
