Hello, my main converter program I use is TMPGEnc Xpress 4.4.
I notice that when I convert a DVD to DIVX 6.8, I get audio sync issues when I play them on my stand alone dvd players.
Can you folks give some tips on how to prevent this?
Or is there another program I should be using?

Your problem is most likely that you are using variable bit rate MP3 audio. Unfortunately VBR MP3 audio is the default for a lot of Divx encoders. Not Dr. Divx though. Change to CBR (constant bit rate) MP3 and see if that doesn't make your problems go away. -
Thnaks for the replys, one more question:
My Philips supports DIVX Ultra, do how do I import the chapter marking from the DVD to DIVX? -
If you want to use chapters then you need a program like Divx Author software.

Ok bear with me another question.
I hear it is impossible to convert a BLu Ray movie into a DIVX file b/c the sound track does not show up on DIVX.
Lets say I buy "THe Dark Knight" BLu Ray disc and I buy the regular "TDK" DVD.
Can I use Virtual DUB rip the audio track from the regular DVD then import that to the DIVX Blu Ray video file? -
Well, it's NOT impossible to convert BluRay to Divx. The soundtrack may need to have the AC3 or DTS core extracted via a tool such as eac3to first though and the audio may have to be encoded separately. It's probably true that none of the easy to use tools understand BluRay high def audio and thus can't convert it.
Your method MIGHT work IF AND ONLY IF the two soundtracks are exactly the same length. If there is any difference (maybe one version has more studio logo crap at the beginning), then it work work.
I would seriously question the wisdom of buying a BluRay AND a DVD version of the same movie just to convert it to Divx. If you simply must have a Divx version, just buy the DVD and convert that. It's easier to work with. Not much is gained by converting BluRay to Divx over DVD to Divx. I doubt you'd be able to tell a difference. You could always buy one version and rent and rip the other - Hollywood still gets its money that way, they just don't get it twice. -
My understanding is that DivX Ultra devices cannot play DivX HD. (i.e. they are limited to 720x480 for NTSC). The "Ultra" only adds menus and subs.
Only media players like TviX, Popcorn Hour, Buffalo can play HD (They can also play other files like h.264 .mkv's, wmv's etc...); and of course HTPC's or devices such as Xbox360, PS3
Your audio sync issues might be from a bad rip? Did you use DVD Fab or AnyDVD ?
