Is it possible to add another movie to a already burnt DVD?

Sorry to ask this question, as it proberbly as been asked numourous time before.

Please can someone point me towards a guide for adding a movies to a already authered & burnt DVD-. If this is possible.

What i'm looking to do is burn a movie using DVD- media, then add another movie at a later date.

Please help, thanks in advance.

Once a burned DVD is finalized, you cannot add anything to it.

So what you are saying is that if I convert 2 avi files to burn to a dvd, I would have to burn them at the same time.

Is there now way to burn 1 movie then add another at a later date?

It can't be done.

DVD's can be used in multi-session mode on PC's, but not with standalone DVD players.

From what I understand the disk when it goes into a standalone player has to have certain files in certain places at the start of the disk so the player can find them. Once the first burn has occurred these cannot be changed so you cannot add more files.

You could of course put the files on a RW until you had them all then burn to a R

DVD video discs use a file structure, NOT a file format. So you can not cut/paste video clips like one a PC. Once the file sturcture is build the only way to change it to re-author the disc.

So in short, the answer is no. If you convert an avi file to MPEG2, author to DVD, and then latter want to add another MPEG2 file; you'll have to re-author the entire VIDEO_TS/DVD to do so.
