  1. I have posted this problem in the past. I am not attempting to take advantage of this forum.I have made attempts to "fix" my problem but, I am confused.
I purchased MPEG2VCR to edit MPEG2 files. When I attempt to load the MPEG2 files to MPEG2VCR the loading process takes approx. 6 to 8 mins. When I use Tmpgenc DVDAuthor, the MPEG2 loads immediately,no delay. Nero 6, loads the file immediately.
I tried reloading the MPEG2VCR, loading my MPEG2 files in quarter screen display.I have contacted Womble Tech Support. They where very nice but could not found any solution to the slow loading process.
Why does every other editing software program I have tired, ( TmpgencDVDAuthor,Studio 8, Microsoft Movie Maker, Nero 6, Ulead DVD,etc) loads the MPEG2 files immediately, and MPEG2VCR will not? Ideas? Thanks for any help to a confused Newbie.

The ones that load immediately don't scan the file.
I'll bet Vdub doesn't load immediately.
Have you looked in options for
"full sequence scan when loading mpeg" The default is OFF but...

What are the properties of your file ? what audio ?

Have you tried generating your own MPEG files under controlled
conditions to use ? Encode one yourself .

And last but not least, does it finally work OK after the slow loading. ?

  3. Thanks for the help. I unchecked the full sequence scan , it was clicked "on". The MPEG2 loads imediately now. Good call
But, the program does not work well for me even after the slow loading. I am having difficulty saving new mpeg2 files. After editing the files I click save to disk, I name the new file and MPEG2 starts to save the file. When the saving process is completed, the new MPEG2, 1.) is only partially saved, 2.) lost audio thru part of the new MPEG2. Also, when I load a clip from the clipboard MPEG2 will not save the clip as a new mpeg2. The program only saves a 5kb file with the new mpeg2 name.
I am capturing with an AIW 9700pro. I am using the ATI Personal Recorder. The property of the video is MPEG2,video encoding NTSC(525) 720x4808.00mbit/sec set at variable rate, target rate 6.00 mbit/sec, motion estimation quality 90. Auio is set 48,000hz,16 bit,LPCM.
    Thanks again

I use it to edit commercials out of ATI captured MPEG2 with Mp2 audio.
The way you do that is to mark-in and mark-out sections
and Delete and move to the next one.
when you finally go to save :
    1. Do not change any settings. It will try to re-encode.
    2. Either set the mark in/out points to the whole movie as your last move
or select ALL in the save dialog. Neither of these is default and you
will lose all your edit work if you don't . How do I know this ?

You should not use LPCM audio, it's too big and not worth it for a TV capture
    MP2

  5. I started to capture audio in LPCM since I using TMPENCDVD Author. I tried to capture audio not using LPCM. My completed DVD projects would not play the audio portion in my Toshiba DVD player. Once I swithced to LPCM, used TMPgenc Dvd Author, the DVD played audio in the Toshiba.
    Thanks alot for the help!!
