  1. I normally do not have issues with audio sync in the films I have encoded to DVD, but this time I am really stuck. I have 3 large AVI files all in 23.97fps, and the final MPEG has VERY bad audio sych.

I thought if I posted exactly how I am making the MPEG someone could explain how to get the audio done properly

    1) open avi 1 and append 2 them 3 in Virtualdub. Set to Direct Copy then F7 to create JOINED.mpeg

    2) Open JOINED.mpeg in Goldwave. Maximise audio to higher level since the audio is AC3 and very quiet. THen I look in Gspot for the length of JOINED.mpeg and enter that length into timewarp and stretch wav to match the mpeg

    3) Open TMPGEnc and select NTSC > CRB MPEG Layer II Audio

    4) Point to JOINED.mpeg and JOINED.wav, and select:

    Non-Interlaced
    1:1 VGA
    Film Movie

    5) In Other Settings, Video, select 3:2 pulldown in Video tab, and tick 3:2 pulldown from Advanced tab

Then that's it- it makes the Mpeg but when I preview the resulting mpeg in TMPGEnc Author the sound is WAY out of synch

    What am I doing wrong

Kind of soon to bump your own thread. :c* Baldrick says wait 2-3 days.
Please try not to bump your topic(reply to your own topic) immediately, wait at least a few days.
You probably will get very few replies because synch issues have been asked and answered so many times before.

Best advice is: grab a cosy chair, a drink, and search right on this site for "audio video sync (or synch)" and prepare for a day's worth of reading.

Best I can offer. Good luck.

  4. hmm ok fair enough, but TBH i HAVE already spent much time reading up here, hence why I have rarely posted here since the guides are so clear. Its only this 3 file job that as got me stumped - first time I have had a sych issue igh: oh well
