    I just bought a DVD burner (plextor 708a) , but I am connecting it to a RAID Controller. What are the jumper settings? My first RAID controller connection device...!

    Why are you conecting the DVD Burner to the RAID controller? It should be connected to the IDE controller, yes?

    It might not work. Some ide raid controllers don't support JBOD setups, only hard drives. What controller are you using? Anyway, there is typically not jumpers settings other that slave and master just like any ordinary ide controller.

    Most Promise chipset controllers don't support ATAPI devices, but Highpoint chipsets usually do.

    Most Raid controlles are only for hard drives so there is a strong possibility you would not be able to connect your dvd burner to it.
