Hi i am a newbie to this but already due to this forum i have backed up loads of my dvd's with the software recomended, but i now want to back up the whole dvd, with menus, special features, and the dts sound option intact! i have a lot of the software out there eg- dvd decrypter, dvd20ne, dvd shrink, dvd fab, clone dvd, nero 6, but dont know how to use these programes to burn a dvd to dvd with all features on the original disc, i use dvd decrypter to remove the region and macrovision+and dvd2one to shrink files, then nero 6 express to burn them but after making several coasters i have come here for advice, guides, tutorial links, anything that can help me! i burnt monsters inc 3 times and everytime i had the director comentry running rite through the movie with no selectable option to remove this,so i had 3 coasters for the bin! so please be very clear with instructions as im like an arse using this software! many thanks to all in this forum and the creaters of this awsome site!

I would pick one app - say DVDshrink - and read every word on its Guide. Lots of info there.
Look for/search posts from ddlooping about DVDshrink if you go with that. They post here often.

just tried that cover printing programe and the result is the same, i think its a fraction bigger but theres still the 1cm in width thats missing and when you have a colourful cover the black on the case really stands out, maybe its the case's im using they may be a bit on the large side?

Tompika- :c) well I checked if one was around at the time and none were.
I've been meaning to tell you for days.... I think the very day I actually heard that jam & doughnut line again (and noticed it!) was the day you went & changed your avatar & sig! :cD

Lovejoy - I don't know. :co Cases are standard sizes, far as I know
Did you just import the graphic right into the prog? It auto-sizes it up or down to what you need. I'd recheck your printer settings if it's happening with all progs.
Maybe the original graphic doesn't have color edge to edge?
To fudge it - just open the cover in a graphic editor and add color to the missing portion. There's no place like 127.0.0.1

my printer settings are fine i simply set it to a4 which is the paper size im using, is there any way to stretch the image width wise so it will fit my case perfectly?

OK - we're going along in the wrong thread, but it's Ok with me - if it's OK with you! :cD
Do you have a graphics editing prog (other than PAINT)? What format is the cover in? BMP?There's no place like 127.0.0.1

AH, well......... try and download a FREE and LEGAL graphics editor from somewhere. :cD There's lots of them that'll do what you need.
I use Jasc PaintshopPro, it's not expensive, but not free, but maybe they have a trial version.
What you need to be able to do is just crop out any part of the jpg image that doesn't have color and resave. it. Look at your original thread. Someone's given you a really nice step-by-step, but it's the same procedure if you already have a scanned image. There's no place like 127.0.0.1

i have just found photoshop 6.01 on one of my back up discs, it came in the package when i bought my computer, will this do the trick?
-
Yes, that should do nicely. :c) All you need to be able to do is drag a box around the part that has image/color and then save that as a new file, plunk in whichever cover prog you prefer and presto!
:c)
PS - what does "mucca" mean? You used it one of your posts. Never heard it before. :coThere's no place like 127.0.0.1

OK? Now remember I don't use that same program. I use PSP. Open that JPG in Photoshop. See if it has white along the sides.
If yes, there should be a tool in Photoshop that you use to "draw" an imaginary box around the part of the image that has the picture. (In my prog it's called a Selection Tool.)
Find that tool - click and drag the box to surround the part you need. Starting at the top left corner of the image.
go to EDIT - COPY (if photoshop has that - most do) and choose copy.
Do the same but choose PASTE as new image. Save that new image with a different name than the original.
Use the new image in the cover prog.
DO NOT resize it if you are using the prog recommended by me.

I FOLLOWED YOUR INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETER AND ALL I GOT WAS A DUPLICATE OF THE SAME COVER I ALREADY HAD SAVED AND WHEN I RAN IT THROUGH THE COVER PROGRAME IT CAME OUT EXACTLY THE SAME, WHICH SEEMS TO BE WHAT I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT SINCE I DIDNT MAKE IT ANY BIGGER IN SIZE? ISNT THE PROBLEM GOING TO WITH THE COVER PROGRAM SINCE THERE TEMPLATE IS WHATS PRINTING THE COVERS TO THE SIZE THEY ARE?
DID I DO SOMTHING WRONG?
LET ME KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY MORE TIPS MATE THANKS
LOVEJOY -
You are still shouting. Please, lose the caps key. And you are not providing any new, useful info.
You left the forum before I'd written all of above, so I don't know what you've tried.
Did the graphic have ANY white on the sides?
I'll say it again - resizing is NOT the problem, nor the answer. There's no place like 127.0.0.1
