    Hello!
I'm using PSP, and need to make a line with a bend in it.
I can make a line okay, I can rezize it and move it etc but I'm struggling to put a bend in it.
Like a 's' shape, you know?
If anyone can help I'd be very grateful but I'll keep trying in the meantime...
....oh, wait, shit, here comes my boss, back to work

    I do!!! :cD hehehe

The key is using VECTOR instead of RASTER

    From PSPro Help:

"After you have selected the Tool Options palette tabs settings and chosen foreground/stroke and background/fill styles and textures, draw the line. The Bezier type creates a curve. While creating a vector curve, you can use the Drawing tool to rotate, move, and deform the object. You can edit it later using the Vector Properties dialog box and the Vector Object Selection tool. Edit a raster curve as you would any other raster selection."

** when you select the drawing tool - go to its Options Box -> TYPE -> BEZIER CURVE

    "To draw a Bezier curve:

1 Position the cursor on the image where you want the curve to begin.

2 Press and hold the left mouse button.

3 Drag the cursor to where you want to end the line, and release the mouse. An outline showing the width of the curve’s line appears as you drag.

4 Create the curve by clicking the mouse away from the line two times and dragging to shape the curve. A node handle appears each time you click. The first click sets the angle and target point from the starting node; the second click sets the angle and target point from the ending node.

    · To create a semi-circular curve, click the mouse where you want to position the top of the curve, and then click again to bring the curve from the endpoint up to it.

    · To create an "S" shaped curve, click and drag once on one side of the line and once on the other.

5 Release the mouse after editing the ending node to set the curve shape and apply the appropriate style and texture at the selected line width."

    or.......................................

    Easy, cheating way: :cD

    Start a new image
Go to Preset shapes (tool option: "create as vector")
Pick (anything with a curve like... Jupiter) :c)
    Plunk it down
You'll see you can drag it to get degree/length of curve
    Save it
    Reopen it
    Erase portions you don't need

For an S - duplicate that and lay one reversed where the original ended.

    OR super cheater way :cD

Make a large font "S" (use Create as vector here too)- drag and size to your liking - erase portions as necessary - save as with any drawn graphic.

    Take your pick.

    :c)

Thanks, that's nice to hear but trust me, PSP is a breeze.
I know a lot here love (Ulead) Photoshop (I've never tried it), but for me there's no turning back.
I might know only 10% of PSP's full capabilities, but it's 10% more than Photoshop

If you like PSP (I do - it's very intuitive, specially as I've been using it on & off since V 3) you should try GIMP. Less intuitive, yes, but at least as powerful, great filters and it's free. Learned to love it during one of my Linux fits, and luckily found a Windoze port when I came back to the main stream.
Photoshop is heavy overkill for 99.9% of every graphics task I can think of.

Actually, once you get to know your way around PSP, its not that hard to use Photoshop. Its very similar but some things are a little different. I don't know about the latest version but the one I used (I think it was 5 or 6) was very similar. It even outputs and opens Photoshop files.
Photoshop is by Ulead in the UK? Here in the US its by Adobe.
