HELP PLZ!!

am getting realy qonfused (wron, iam confused )
i want to buy a dvd burner, for the usage of backup and burning svcd movies and watching in my dvd.
My dvd is quite new Yamaha bla bla and takes everything.

But.
1. i have a liteon dvd burner in mind , but it doesnt take dvd - .when can this be a problem for me?? (donnu anything)

2. Can i burn several svcd movies on one dvd cd?? or is it like one movie only?

3.this is maybe not a question that belong here but how can i check that a file (movie) that i downloaded is in svcd format?
i mean several movies that u download is like 800mb and i says its svcd.
but sence i dont have a dvd burner yet i cant check.

u can burn ~800MB of SVCD OR VCD onto a normal 80min/700MB CD...
u dont need a DVD burner to burn SVCDs a normal CD burner will do that....

for burning those 800 MB SVCD iso u DL-ed, i recommend Alcohol 120%, i think u can get a demo, if not use the Blindwrite Demo....
